DIY or die … or dance!

The Zlín-based Zvěřinec is driven by an effort to revive culture in the city by collaborating with and engaging the locals. Members of the Zvěřinec do not want to cut ties with their city, they believe that a community-based culture is natural and essential for a healthy civil society. Therefore, they have decided to create a well-functioning cultural and social platform in the region to be used by the locals as a centre for encounters, education, and artistic self-realisation. Zvěřinec has been successful in gradually building a network of volunteers, and their long-term goal is to establish creative “colonies” and a cultural centre as a haven for new artistic and cultural projects.
