Cultural underground in a unique location – a former factory

Since its foundation in 2012, the independent creative centre INDUSTRA has been striving to preserve the heritage of Brno’s industrial history by carrying out creative activities. Relocating to Nová Zbrojovka, the city of Brno’s largest brownfield turned innovative urban district, INDUSTRA has become one of the most important centres of its kind in Central Europe. It functions as an international multidisciplinary platform, including visual, performing, and digital arts, architecture, design and crafts, and offering a space for creative interaction of and inspiration for both local and international artists and other creatives.

The industrial spaces and outdoor areas within the INDUSTRA compound are an ideal backdrop for innovative and original approaches in theatre production. The typical factory-like environment allows us to feature unique site-specific projects. The facilities available at INDUSTRA offer space for creative interweaving of various artistic disciplines, such as object and dance theatre, performance art, light installations, and workshops.
